After getting ready for our big inland trip, we decided to spend the day at the beach. We headed into a restaurant we had found a few days ago (thanks Trip Advisor!) called Marlena's. They had this great tuna and white bean salad and a shrimp stuffed avocado that was great!
When we were here last time there was a friendly dog roaming around. We learned her name is Tula and is owned by a bar owner in town. She spends her day hanging out with the tourists on the beach. She loves to chase sticks into the surf and then play tug of war.
We were horrified when one of the beach vendors came by and Chulo started barking at him and the vendor picked up a chair and started trying to hit the dog with it. The guy tossed sand in Dave's face in the process. He then picked up a big rock like he was going to throw it at the dog. We suspect that the reason the dog barked at him was because he's abused the dog previously. What is with people anyway?
