Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

Revital takes us to San Miguel

This morning we got up early and took the bus to San Miguel de Allande.  Its about an hour bus ride from Guanajuato.  Roughly speaking, Guadalajara is about the size of the greater Seattle area, Guanajuato is about the size of downtown Seattle, and San Miguel would be Bellevue.

We immediately sent a text to our friend Revital to tell her we had made it to San Miguel.  She lived there for a while and was delighted we had made the trek there.  She recommended her favorite restaurant Café Rama for lunch.  We found it as wonderful as we had figured a recommendation from her would be.  The food was excellent.

We then wandered up the street to take a look around.  We found a small shop selling handmade organic chocolates. We got to taste some and they were yummy.  They had a chili pepper chocolate very similar to Melissa's truffles.

We then wandered around the town for a while seeing the sights.  While San Miguel doesn't have Guanajuato's grandeur, it has the same type of architecture - just in a more quiet laid back kind of way.  Its clear why there is such a large ex-pat community here.  Its definitely a place you could live happily in retirement.

Dave had a conference call in the afternoon.  So we headed over to the Rosewood Hotel (another Revital recommendation) to sit in their rooftop restaurant so Dave could take his call.  The view was stunning.  More wine and good food.  Its like we are on vacation!
