Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

Hopefully the last of the Expedia story

Yesterday we made the long trek home from Guadalajara to Seattle.  Luckily we made it back in time for the big SeaHawks game.  GO HAWKS!  Though the hawks having made the Super Bowl may change our plans when we get back to Mexico since we will have to be somewhere to watch the game rather than being underway to Zihuatanejo as originally planned.  Ah the sacrifices we make for the home team.

Today we hope we were able to close the Expedia saga.  After Dad filed the Expedia lawsuit for us, we had the lawsuit served on Expedia on Tuesday last week.  Within hours of being served we received a Voice Mail message - "we want to settle".  We've been playing phone tag ever since because of our travels.  But being back in Seattle this week, Expedia was able to reach Melissa this afternoon.  Their first offer was to settle for the whole of the $750, plus the court fees and the process server fees.  Same as we would have asked for in court.  Interesting because what wasn't clear was whether they just settled every case that is filed on them for relatively small dollar amounts, or whether someone had actually looked at this case and realized they should settle.  But in any case, we are happy that they aren't going to put us through a court hearing.  We just have to sign the paperwork that should arrive tomorrow (cross your fingers it doesn't contain anything onerous) and then they will give us our money back.  Whew.
